ATEX dust explosion protection

Many bulk goods are fine dusts with the risk of dust explosions. Because of this a complete installation has to be assessed on risks according to the European ATEX 137 directive.
Polem its food silos meet the demands from the ATEX 95 directive on equipment. The silos are ground against electrostatic sparks according to the recommendations of ISMA, a well-known Belgian safety institute. Rupture discs are mounted to vent the pressure of an explosion. Calculation is according to the VDI 3673 standard.
An advantage of Polem silos is their high pressure burst resistance, so a small rupture surface suffices.
