Maximum capacity
The customer
H. Bröring GmbH & Co. KG
H. Bröring GmbH & Co. KG is part of the Bröring Unternehmensgruppe which is one of the leading feed producers in North-West Germany. Furthermore Bröring is a prominent enterprise in agrarian trade in this area.
The challenge
Maximum capacity
To meet the growing demand, and to maintain its position in the future, the Bröring company decided to expand the transshipment installation. Supply of raw materials by ship and distribution of these good by roadtankers result in an optimal solution for the logistics that contibuted to the success of Bröring GmbH & Co. KG. For supply of goods by ship the storage capacity is of great importance.

The solution
Diameter & lenght
On a concrete drive-through construction 6 silos where placed, with a diameter of 5 meters and a length of app. 28 meters. These silos provide a nett storagecapacity of 500m³ a piece. The silos are equiped with a steel support ring to make an easy and rigid connection with the concrete structure.
The result
6 GFK silos with steel conus. GFK and steel can be combined very well to take advantage of the properties of both materials. The GFK body of the vessel is built in one piece ,with an inside that is completely seamless and smooth, so the stored goods will flow out well. The high thermal insulation of GRP minimises condensation. Both help to prevent degradation of the stored materials. Steel was used for the conus, to create a double outflow, this prevenst bridgin and offers maximum flexibility. The relative small steel part can be replaced at any time eg when it starts to show wearing or if a single outflow is deisred because of other bulkgood properties
